5/8/20

Hi Acorns,

This will be my last lesson.  It is the same lesson for all students. It is about taming “the beast.” The feeling when we get nervous, upset, or angry. Please watch the video and answer the questions down below in the Google document in the 4/3/20 post. We are on day 6. (Slide 16) You can skip over slide 18.

Also, my optional weekly social skills story is “Grief is Like a Snowflake” by Julia Cook. When we experience grief, our sadness is different for everyone. As always, feel free to reach out by email, text, or call. I hope you each have a great summer!

Hi Acorns,

Here is an optional activity about controlling anger. This book is called Soda Pop Kid by Julia Cook.

Everyone gets angry. It is important to learn ways to handle our anger. You can learn about the push, pull, dangle and the three rules to keep yourself out of trouble. Email me after you have watched the video and tell me what you have learned.  Ms. Foley :)

Hi Acorns,
For the week of April 27th, the optional social story is “I Can’t Believe You SAID That!” by Julia Cook. We all need to use our social filter. Using our social filter means we think before we do or say something out loud that maybe hurtful to someone, embarrass ourselves, or hurt friendships. The link to the story is down below. Let me know if you have any questions.
