Click the "useful links" button on the left to find our weekly assignments/resources, and submit your completed participation.

Can't find the links to the left? No worries! Scroll down below to find everything you need.

There will only be one assignment per week. Don't worry, parents, we are keeping it simple.
That being said, students are still required to complete the art activities as assigned. To let me know that you have done the assignment(s) each week, use the link at the bottom of the page (it can also be found in "useful links").

Week of May 11th
If you have finished all of our lessons so far, the lessons directly below are for you. As usual, use the link below these assignments to let me know what you completed this week.
2nd-4th
Watch the video below, which gives a quick demonstration on how to make positive vs negative space artwork, then try to create your own. Where you see the colored paper is the positive space. Where you see the white paper is the negative space. Positive space tends to be the "subject" of the artwork. Negative space tends to be the "background."
In this case, we are using positive and negative space to create a symmetrical piece of artwork.  Symmetrical just means that it's the same on both sides.

K-1st
Knowing our shapes is really important in the art room. Putting them together to create new things is also a very important skill! Why not use them in a fun way to create something cool with? Watch this video and try to follow along!

(TO ALL PARENTS: It is perfectly fine with me to help your student fill this out, especially if they are in the younger grade levels like K-2)

If you did not complete all of the assignments from the last four weeks, scroll down further to find them & complete them. There will be a separate link for you to let me know that you have completed the previous assignments.

Previous Assignments
We started to take record of completions starting the week of April 13th. For the past four weeks, I have had a menu for students to choose/cross out an activity until they had completed all four on that menu. I have listed the activities below and given you a separate link to submit participation for these assignments.

1. Draw or paint something of your choice with any supplies at home, then tell me about your drawing.

2. Using any 3-D materials you have (play-dough, slime, silly putty, or legos, etc), sculpt a model of your family.

3. Try to draw something in front of you without picking up your pencil as an extra challenge.

4. With parental supervision, research the artwork of one of the following artists together: Leonid Afremov OR Wasilly Kandinski.
